Board 8: The Plaque
The local historical societies considered the Grimes journey such an important event in the history of Victoria that the journey warranted a local memorial commemorating this bicentennial celebration.
So a plaque was made and set in place at Pipemakers Park during the celebrations by the current Surveyor General, Keith Bell. Accompanied by Peter Somerville.
